A Beginner’s Guide to Applying Eyeliner

Eyeliner is a powerful tool in any makeup routine, capable of defining your eyes, enhancing their shape, and adding a touch of drama. However, for beginners, applying eyeliner can feel intimidating. With the right techniques and a little practice, you’ll be able to master this essential skill. Here’s a step-by-step guide to help you get started.  

1. Choose the Right Eyeliner  

There are several types of eyeliners to consider:  

-Pencil Eyeliner: Great for beginners, easy to control, and ideal for soft, smudged looks.  

- Liquid Eyeliner: Perfect for sharp, precise lines and winged looks, but requires a steady hand.  

- Gel Eyeliner: Offers the precision of liquid liner with the ease of a pencil, applied with a brush.  

Start with a pencil liner if you’re new to eyeliner, as it’s the most forgiving and easiest to use.  

2. Prep Your Eyes

Begin with a clean, primed eyelid. Apply a light eyeshadow or primer to create a smooth base. This helps the eyeliner adhere better and last longer.  

3. Start with Small Strokes

Instead of trying to draw one continuous line, use small, gentle strokes along your lash line. This technique gives you more control and helps you build the line gradually. For a natural look, stay close to the upper lash line.  

4. Create a Wing (Optional)
